Cornhole: the ideal activity to energize a golf competition

Today, organizing a competition is no longer enough. Participants are looking for an experience, sharing, and memorable moments. It is in this spirit that we integrated cornhole into our golf and footgolf event.

Simple, accessible, and unifying, this game from the United States has become an obvious choice to transform a classic competition into a truly convivial moment.

What is cornhole?

Cornhole is a game of skill that involves throwing bean bags onto an inclined board with a hole. The goal is to score as many points as possible by hitting the board or successfully getting the bag into the hole.

Accessible to everyone, it requires no particular skill and can be learned in minutes, making it a perfect activity for all audiences.

Cornhole Rules

Setup

  • Two boards are placed facing each other
  • Distance between boards: approximately 8 meters
  • Two teams of 1 or 2 players
  • Each team has 4 bags

Game Objective

Score more points than the opposing team by throwing bags onto the board or directly into the hole.

Scoring System

  • Bag in the hole: 3 points
  • Bag on the board: 1 point
  • Bag on the ground: 0 points

Point Counting

Cornhole uses a differential scoring system. Only the difference in points between the two teams is counted in each round.

Example: one team scores 5 points and the other 3 points. The score recorded is 2 points for the winning team of the round.

Round Play

  • Players throw their bags in turn
  • All 8 bags are played (4 per team)
  • Points are tallied at the end of the round

End of Game

The game is usually played to 21 points. The first team to reach this score wins the game.

Why integrate cornhole into a golf competition?

Create connections between participants

Cornhole naturally encourages interaction. It allows players, companions, and partners to meet in a relaxed and accessible setting.

Occupy waiting times

In a golf competition, waiting times are frequent. Cornhole helps maintain momentum and avoids downtime by offering a simple and engaging activity.

Make the event more inclusive

This game allows non-golfers to fully participate in the event. Companions, partners, and visitors can easily get involved.

Create an identifiable activity

For our event, we had a custom cornhole board made in France by Cornhole.fr in TeeVasion's colors. The objective was not commercial, but experiential: to offer a strong, identifiable, and reusable activity.

A real lever for event experience

Cornhole is more than just a game. It becomes a powerful tool to:

  • improve the overall participant experience
  • create lasting memories
  • strengthen the event's image
  • naturally highlight partners

Easy to set up, accessible, and unifying, it transforms the atmosphere of a competition and provides an essential convivial dimension.

Conclusion

Integrating cornhole into a golf competition allows you to go beyond the simple sporting framework to create a true moment of sharing. It's a simple but effective solution to enrich the experience and make a lasting impression.

At TeeVasion, our ambition is to design events that create connections and leave a lasting impression. Cornhole is fully aligned with this vision.
